چکیده

The work is focused on the combined process of obtaining bimetallic parts that involve laser-directed energy deposition (LDED) additive technology and conventional casting process. In this research, molybdenum powder was deposited by LDED a cast 25L steel substrate. choice materials motivated demands for replacing traditional technique brazing with copper interlayer low-carbon to eliminate shortcomings. influence particle morphology quality layers studied. Spherical PMS-M99.9 facilitated stable good found be suitable LDED. Quality diagnostics were performed studying microstructure, hardness, wear resistance properties. Preferential parameters through parametrical analysis. Microstructural studies showed results in homogeneous layer strong bond substrate, which confirmed mutual diffusion Mo Fe boundary. It also demonstrated working assure high wear, fretting resistance. three studied coatings (LDED powders PM-M; VM1 brazing) had same friction coefficient value ~0.25. Compared others, coating lowest volumetric while abrasive measured highest.

Residual Stress in Metal Parts Produced by Powder-Bed Additive Manufacturing Processes

In this study, residual stresses from the electron beam additive manufacturing (EBAM) and selective laser melting (SLM) processes, due to repeated thermal cycles, were investigated. Residual stresses play a crucial role in part performance, and thus, it is critical to evaluate the process-induced residual stresses in AM parts. Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718 parts produced by EBAM and SLM, respective...

Additive Manufacturing: Reproducibility of Metallic Parts

The present study deals with the properties of five different metals/alloys (Al-12Si, Cu-10Sn and 316L—face centered cubic structure, CoCrMo and commercially pure Ti (CP-Ti)—hexagonal closed packed structure) fabricated by selective laser melting. The room temperature tensile properties of Al-12Si samples show good consistency in results within the experimental errors. Similar reproducible resu...

Novel Beam Diagnostics Improve Laser Additive Manufacturing

Laser additive manufacturing (LAM) is rapidly becoming an important method for the fabrication of both prototype and production metal parts. However, the technology is really just in its infancy, and significant work still needs to be done in the development of new materials and in understanding how various process parameters affect results. In particular, LAM methods typically have a relativel...

Selecting parts for additive manufacturing in service logistics

Purpose – For more than ten years, the value of additive manufacturing (AM) for after-sales service logistics has been propagated. Today, however, only few applications are observed in practice. In this paper, possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed and a method is developed to simplify the identification of economically valuable and technologically feasible business cases. Design/m...
